Geropsychiatry

The section on Geriatric Psychiatry at the Sepulveda Campus of the VAGLAHS consists of a newly designed Day Hospital for intermediate and long term geropsychiatric care, a consultation service to a large Nursing Home Care Unit, and several outpatient clinics, including Geropsychiatry, Neuropsychiatry, Dementia, and Sleep Disorders, for the inter-disciplinary assessment and treatment of a variety of behavioral disorders occurring in the elderly.  Residents rotate through the service for two months during PGY III.  The Geropsychiatry section also provides formal didactic experiences designed to enhance the clinical material encountered by the residents.
