THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY / OLIVE VIEW-UCLA MEDICAL CENTER

This hospital is one of six operated by the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. It is a general acute care teaching hospital which serves more than one and one-half million residents of the San Fernando Valley and adjacent north Los Angeles County areas. The hospital began operations in the new facility May 1987 with a 350 bed capacity. The Psychiatry Service includes thirty-two adult inpatient beds, an active twelve bed Psychiatry Emergency Room, and a full-fledged Consultation Liaison Service.
Olive View-UCLA Medical Center is a teaching hospital which provides training programs for a variety of health care disciplines in association with several colleges and universities. Physician education and training programs, undergraduate and postgraduate, are affiliated with UCLA, as well as Psychology & Neuropsychology programs. OVMC also has cooperative arrangements with the University of Southern California Medical Center and a variety of outpatient clinics for aftercare.
OVMC is connected by freeways to the S-VAGLAHS and the two are only fifteen minutes apart.
